Wireless CCTV
Most commercial CCTV systems would use a cabled setup for reasons of reliability and longevity. For a residential setup, some people may prefer a wireless system. A wireless CCTV system would simply connect to your recorder via wifi or Bluetooth. You would have to consider the possibility of your router going offline, with the knock on impact on the CCTV system recording.
Some things to think about
The signal range from your camera to router can be impacted by your home's building materials, or even other other wireless devices in the vicinity. Brick and concrete walls will impact on signal strength, with a signal likely to be weakened.
